Thank you for your email dated 24 November 2014 requesting:
1. What is the definition of Early Works for Otahuhu Transport Interchange, in other words for $6.3m for the
2014/2015 year what does it get us in regards to Otahuhu Transport Interchange if reprioritisation is not
successful in allowing the full set of works for Otahuhu Transport Interchange
2. The Tender Documents either open or closed for the construction of these “early works” for Otahuhu
Transport Interchange cannot be found on the various Auckland Transport pages including these two:

3. Is there a particular reason why these tender documents are not publicly accessible or not on your

4. Is there an updated version of the

August2014.pdf which is meant to be updated monthly but has not been done so since August 2014
5. Are the designs for the Manukau Transport Interchange able to be released into the public domain yet? If
not when so please. What will happen with those designs if the Basic Transport Network continues and
the Manukau Interchange cannot be built until 2020/2021?
Otahuhu Transport Interchange The Otahuhu bus interchange design is underway. The initial enabling works was tendered throughout October
2014 with the contract awarded mid-November and due for completion in the 1st quarter of 2015. This contract
is noted in the “Awarded Contracts” document available onlin

Contracts.pdf. The Otahuhu bus interchange main works tender is expected to be out to the market by around March 2015.
Manukau Transport Interchange The Manukau bus interchange project is in the concept design stage with detailed design due to progress
throughout December through to Feb 2015.
The current programme is to be out to tender by mid-2015 for construction of the Manukau bus interchange.

If the Manukau Interchange design cannot be implemented then reduced facilities will be required for the New
Network bus service design in the interim.

make a complaint to the Office of the Ombudsman to seek an investigation and review in regard to this matter.
