Request for information
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request of 20 February 2023, for
the following:
Dear New Zealand Police, is it lawful for police and constables to falsely accuse
and trespass onto heirs and successors private properties with out evidence and
proof of conduct.
Is it lawful for police and constables to make false accusations without evidence
and are they able to hold the heir or successors in contempt without proof but
merely hearsay accusations.
All Police officers take the constable’s oath set out in section 22 of the Policing Act 2008,
which includes the following commitment:
“While a constable I wil , to the best of my power, keep the peace and prevent offences
against the peace, and wil , to the best of my skil and knowledge, perform al the duties
of the office of constable according to law.”
In addition, all Police employees, whether constabulary or non-constabulary, are subject
to the Police Code of Conduct, which is publicly available here:
