May I ask how did you call for public nomination and on what platform you have call for public 
nominations, e.g. govt.jobs website. Also, how many applications you have received from the public 
and how many you have received from other nominating agencies such as TPK or Ministry of 
women etc. further, how many you have shortlisted. 

 
Please also supply the term of reference of the role and pay rate.”  
 
Your request has been considered under the Act.  
 
The recruitment round was for the position of Grocery Commissioner and was open from 26 January 
2023 to 15 February 2023. MBIE called for public nominations through the following:  
 
•  an invitation from the Minister to her Caucus colleagues to provide nominations 
•  advertising on the MBIE careers website, Seek (Australia and NZ) and jobs.govt.nz website 
•  requesting nominations from the Ministry of Women, Ministry of Ethnic Communities, Ministry 
for Pacific Peoples, Ministry for Disabled Peoples, and Te Puni Kokiri 
We have received 14 applications from this recruitment round. There were no nominations from 
nominating agencies.   
Remuneration for this role is determined by the Remuneration Authority and will be set at the time 
of appointment.
