Dear Rorie
Official Information Act request relating to party branding in the House of
Representatives
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request of 13 February 2023.
You have requested:
“I was wondering where the binders that members of house had them on their seats
with their respective party branding and colour on them had gone?
We’re they removed due to a ruling from the Speaker or a decision taken by respective
members or parties?
I understand this may not be in youre field of questioning therefore is appreciate if you
could transfer the question the the correct department.”
The Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC) does not hold the information
you requested, and we cannot think of any other agency subject to the OIA that would hold it,
or whose functions would be more closely connected to it. I am therefore refusing your
request under section 18(g) of the OIA because the information is not held.
The Speaker and Members of Parliament are not subject to the OIA as per section 2(1) of
the OIA so you may wish to email them directly with your question. You can contact the
Speakers Office at
[email address]. There
is
information
about

of
parliament
here
www.parliament.nz/en/get-involved/have-your-say/contact-an-mp/, and information about
parliamentary parties her

investigate and review my decision under section 28(3) of the OIA. We do not intend to
publish this response on the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet’s website.
Yours sincerely
