“What is the timeframe for STR third party checks?” 
The Police Vetting Service understands ‘STR’ to mean ‘Straight to Residence’ visa 
applications. The Police Vetting Service receives visa requests through a general visa 
queue. These visa requests are submitted by Immigration New Zealand. When 
Immigration New Zealand submits a vetting application, it does not provide any further 
information on the type of visa being submitted. 
The timeframe for completion of all vetting requests is 20 working days.
