Thank you for your email on 10 February 2023, asking for the following which has been 
considered under the Of icial Information Act 1982 (the Act): 
  •  “Do you have plans to begin encouraging people to take the Polio vaccine again? Wil there 
be a polio vaccine campaign in 2023?” 
 
The National Immunisation Programme (the Programme) is preparing increased communications 
on the importance of childhood immunisation, and this wil  include polio. 
In addition, the Programme has worked with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade to ensure 
travel information on polio is up to date. 
Te Whatu Ora wil  continue monitor to monitor the risk of polio in New Zealand and update 
collateral accordingly.
