OIA 22-23-22: Detail on investment external recruiter tender process 
 
Thank you for your email of 26 January 2023 to New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE), 
making a request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act). Answers to your questions 
are as follows:  
 
1.  What tender process, if any, was undertaken for the appointment of "Agency 6" in my 
previous request (the agency who has received $466,709.20 of fees in the last 5 years.)  
 
•  On each occasion, Agency 6 has been engaged on a case-by-case basis as recruitment 
related needs arose.   Due to the value of each engagement, a direct sourcing 
approach, as opposed to an open tender process, was taken.  
 
2.  What independent (i.e. outside the investment team) checks and reviews have been made 
on this process?  
 
•  The Talent team in our People & Kōrako business unit are involved in the discussion on 
the best acquisition approach of all open roles in Investment at NZTE. 
 
3.  How many assignments is the agency currently working on?  
 
•  Two.
