Re: Maintenance schedule for shared path 
 
Your  request  for  information  regarding  the  Maintenance  plan  for  shared  paths  alongside 
motorways in Auckland was transferred to us by Auckland Transport on February 23, 2023. 
The specific details of your request and our response are below. 
 
“I am writing to request the maintenance schedule for the shared path alongside SH20 
that goes between Orpheus Drive and Queenstown Road. This has not been maintained 
for  at  least  the  last  two  years  and  vegetation  overgrowth  has  now  made  the  path 
effectively one-way at a pinch point. Please include what the schedule should be, when 
the  next  maintenance  is  planned,  and  any  records  of  previous  maintenance 
undertaken.” 
 
The  cycle  path  alongside  SH20  (highlighted  yellow)  and  neighbouring  patch  of  vegetation 
have  not  been  maintained  by  Auckland  Council.  Your  request  is  therefore  refused  under 
section 17 (e) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987, that the 
document alleged to contain the information requested does not exist or, despite reasonable 
efforts to locate it, cannot be found. 
 
Auckland Council are currently liaising with Auckland Transport regarding the clean-up of this 
path and responsibilities for the maintenance going forward. Once this has been confirmed 
we will be in contact with yourself. 
 
Decisions relating to the information that is being released to you were made by Taryn Crewe, 
General Manager – Parks and Community Facilities.
