INFORMATION REQUEST – Installation & maintenance costs for proposed bus
shelters.

We  write  in  response  to  your  email  dated  10  January  2023  in  which  you  requested  the
following information:
 What is the cost of installation, and ongoing maintenance contractual costs for
the approximately 140 bus stops being installed across the city over the next 18
months?

We have considered your request in accordance with the Local Government Official
Information and Meetings Act 1987 (“LGOIMA”) and respond as follows:
Please see the tables at Annexe A for the previous 18 months of maintenance costs. Our
budget for the current financial year for bus shelter maintenance is $54,425, of which it has
cost $66,027 for the first six months of the current financial year. We have additional funding
for cleaning shelters which is $32,261. It is anticipated with the increase in shelters from 187
to 327, a further shortfall in our current funding is to be expected.
These budgets are set by the Regional Council.
The supply and installation costs for the 140 new bus shelters are outlined below:
