Thank you for your Of icial Information Act 1982 request for information on the use of funds that 
result from staffing under the required FTE at Palmerston North Hospital and where the money that 
was allocated goes.  Health New Zealand Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua | MidCentral 
(previously MidCentral District Health Board) responds as follows: 
 
Time required to meet available patient demand wil  come from either staff rostering, overtime or 
by redeploying staff in departments where they have lower patient demand.  This does not 
generally result in a net cost saving.
