Dear P Taylor
Official Information Act request about Facebook content requests
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) request received on
6 November 2022.
You have requested:
1. Under the Official Information Act 1982, I would like to request
any communications that include the URL,
www.facebook.com/xtakedowns/login or "Facebook Content
Requests" during the period of 01/08/2022 to 30/09/2022.
2. I would also like to know how many staff in the Department of
Prime Minister and Cabinet have, or have had, access to the
Facebook Content Requests System where the URL root and
path includes www.facebook.com/xtakedowns/login
.
I can advise that the only communications the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet
(DPMC) holds that contain the specific URL outlined above or the words “Facebook Content
Requests” between 1 August 2022 and 30 September 2022 are administrative emails
relating to other official information requests, and our responses advising of our decisions on
those requests. We do not consider these to be within the scope of your request.
We have also interpreted your request to refer to staff members having access or accessing
the Facebook Content Request System in the course of their work.
No staff in DPMC have, or would have been required to access the Facebook Content
Request System in the course of their work.
As such, I am refusing your request under section 18(e) of the Act in full, as the documents
alleged to contain the information requested do not exist.
You have the right to ask the Ombudsman to investigate and review my decision under
section 28(3) of the Act.
