Monitoring initiative 
 
Thank you for your Of icial Information Act 1982 (the Act) request received on  
31 October 2022. You requested: 
 
“I would like to make a request for information relating to projects funded by the Vote 
Prime Minister and Cabinet policy initiative “COVID-19 Response - Epidemiological 
Modelling, Disinformation Monitoring and Risk Assessment.” 
For the avoidance of doubt, I am referring to projects funded under this initiative in 
both the 2021/22 and 2022/23 periods. 
I would like to request a list of the reports paid for by this funding that have been 
completed and received by DPMC, including the report title, date and agency or 
organisation that produced it.” 
 
As at 31 October 2022, the following reports have been funded by the policy initiative COVID-

The University of Auckland (working under the consortium of COVID Modelling Aotearoa 
(CMA)) has  been commissioned to undertake mathematical model ing of COVID-19 
transmission  for the COVID-19 Pandemic in 2021/22 and 2022/23 financial years.  It  has 
provided regular data for scenarios commissioned by an Al  of Government Modelling Steering 
Group, as well as guidance on the application of modelling. This modelling data has fed into 
situation updates and projections for Ministers and officials, as well as insights for the Ministry 
of Health, which are available on its website:

CMA have also published research stemming from the modelling work on its website:
