Thank you for your email
of 29 October 2022 requesting the following information under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act):
I have just had my Bedford bus disappear from where it was parked in mangatapu. I am
wanting to see the cctv footage between 28/10/22 9pm - 29/10/22 330pm please
On 31 October 2022 we asked you to refine the timeframe and clarify the exact location of where the
van was stolen from, and you replied to our email with the following clarification:
It was parked i the car park on the left just after the mangatapu roundabout. It’s a big
Bedford bus went missing the night of the 28th.
On 1 November 2022 we asked you to advise the registration number of your Bedford bus.
Unfortunately, as we have not received a response from you, we have been unable to provide the
information requested.
Given that the incident occurred on 28 October 2022, it has been more than seven days since it took
place. As footage is usually only retained for three to seven days before it gets overwritten, in this
instance it is likely that any footage from this date has now been overwritten. I am therefore refusing
your request under section 18(g)(i) of the Act as the information requested is not held by Waka Kotahi
NZ Transport Agency and there is no reason to believe it is held by another government agency or
department.
Under section 28 of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review my decision to refuse
this request. The contact details for the Ombudsman can be located at
