May I ask how did you call for public nomination and on what platform you have call for public
nominations, e.g. govt.jobs website. Also, how many applications you have received from the public and
how many you have received from other nominating agencies such as TPK. further, how many you have
shortlisted.
I am also requesting the position description of this role and the pay rate.
Your request has been considered under the Act. As we have previously informed you, we have partially
transferred the part of your request which relates to pay rates under section 14(b)(i) of the Act to the
Remuneration Authority. You should expect to hear from them directly regarding this part of your
request.

1. How did we call for public nominations and what platforms did we use?
MBIE has used the following methods and platforms to receive nominations for the Board:
Ministerial nominations
an invitation from the Minister’s colleagues seeking nominations
MBIE Board Appointments newsletter, the MBIE Careers Website, Seek, jobs.govt.nz and the
Institute of Directors website
notifications through the Board’s own networks
requesting nominations from the Ministry for Women, Ministry of Ethnic Communities, Te Puni
Kōkiri, Ministry for Pacific Peoples, and the Office for Disability Issues.
2. How many applications did we receive from the public?
We received 23 applications in total, 19 were from the public.
3. How many applications were received from nominating agencies?
We received three nominations from Population agencies, two from the Ministry of Ethnic
Communities and one from the Ministry of Women.
In addition, we received four Ministerial nominations.
4. How many shortlisted?
Four candidates were shortlisted for interview.
