Extending the time to respond to your request made under the Official Information Act 1982 
 
Thank you for your email of 13 October 2022 requesting the fol owing information under the Official 
Information Act 1982 (the Act): 
 
Could you please tell me the percentage of roading maintained by NZTA that is currently over 
the design life duration for the seal grade and traffic volumes that apply to that section of 
road. 
 
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is extending the 20 working days available to us to respond to 
your request, as al owed for under section 15A of the Act. We need five more working days to 
respond to your request and wil  send you our response on or before 18 November 2022.  
 
We are extending the deadline as the consultations necessary to make a decision on your request are 
such that a thorough response cannot reasonably be made within the 20-working-day limit.  
 
Under section 28 of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review my decision to 
extend the time we wil  take to respond to your request. You can find the contact details for the
