Official  information  request  for  digital  copies  of  the  Auckland  Crown  Solicitors’ 
warrants

1.
I refer to your official information request dated 30 September 2022 for “digital
copies  of  the  Crown  Solicitor's  Warrants  issued  since  1922  to  the  law  firm
Meredith Connell for the Auckland region.”
2.
A copy of the warrant for Brian Dicky, appointed in 2015, is enclosed.
3.
No  warrant  of  appointment  was  issued  to  Christine  Gordon,  Interim  Crown
Solicitor,  in  2014  and  at  the  time  of  the  appointment  of  the  previous  Crown
Solicitor  for  Auckland  in  1994,  Crown  Law  did  not  maintain  electronic  or  other
copies of the warrants of appointment.
4.
We  therefore  refuse  your  request  in  part,  on  the  basis  that  the  information
requested is not held by Crown Law.
5.
To  the  extent  it  may  be  helpful,  we  set  out  below  a  list  of  the  various  warrant
holders for the Auckland region from 1921 to date, along with the various New
