Dear Lisa
We can confirm that approximately thirty people were interviewed as part of the
story.
The story was a very fair portrayal of the public mood about the government on that
day. Opposition to the Government amongst the interviewees was extremely high.
To show a balanced view each person who was supportive of the Government was
included in the track, with a selection of those who were opposed. This necessarily
meant that several people who were opposed to the Government were left out.
A transcript cannot be provided as this would require substantial work in col ating, and
therefore this part of your request is refused under Section 18A of the Act.
This could be provided at a cost by an external provider. We refer you to Section 15
of the Act which al ows for a charge to be applied for. If you are interested in pursuing
this we could explore costs of doing so.
In our view the withholding of the information is not outweighed by other
considerations which render it desirable in the public interest to make it available.
In accordance with Section 19(b) of the Act we advise that you have the right to seek
an investigation and review of the above refusal by making a complaint under Section
28(3) to an Ombudsman.
Yours sincerely
OIA Team
