Review of decision made under the Official Information Act 1982 
 
I am writing in regard to your request made under the Official Information Act 1982 for a copy of the 
Auckland Harbour Bridge Shared Path Single Stage Business Case.  
 
Following your complaint to the Ombudsman, I have undertaken to review our decision to withhold 
some of the financial information contained in the Business Case released to you previously.  
 
Waka Kotahi has subsequently made a decision to release the Business Case with much of the 
previously withheld information now made available. However, we continue to withhold the detailed 
maintenance and operational costs set out in Appendix H under section 9(2)(j) of the Act, to enable 
Waka Kotahi to carry out, without prejudice, commercial negotiations. Releasing the itemised 
breakdown would likely impact our ability to carry out negotiations in respect of ongoing maintenance 
activities for existing and future connections across the Waitematā Harbour.  
 
A copy of the Business Case with revised redactions is attached for your information. 
 
Under section 28 of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review my decision to 
withhold this information.
