I refer to your request received on 9 September 2022, which has been considered
under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA), for the following information:
“What plans, if any, are currently in place regarding amending or replacing the
Sovereign's Birthday Observance Act 1952, so that references to a "Sovereign's
birthday" in other Acts will still be considered to be references to the first Monday in
June?”
Manatū Taonga is investigating amending or replacing the Sovereign's Birthday
Observance Act 1952, along with all other legislation in our portfolio impacted by the
passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
