Request for information 
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request which was partially transferred to 
Police by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment on 15 September 2022. 
My response to the transferred portion of your request is detailed below.

Please provide me with the total number of New Zealand Police staff or contractors, that
are employed or contractors on work permit Visas.
10) Please provide me the total number of New Zealand Police staff or contractors, that hold
Dual Citizenship and which country they hold the Dual citizenship with.
11) Please provide me with the total number of New Zealand Police staff or contractors, that
have applied for Citizenship and are yet to be awarded Citizenship to New Zealand.
Please include their countries of origin or which country they hold Citizenship in currently.
12) Please provide me with the total number of New Zealand Police staff or contractors, that
are citizens of Chile.
13) Please provide me with the total number of New Zealand Police staff or contractors, that
are citizens of Argentina.
14) Please provide me with the total number of New Zealand Police staff or contractors, that
are citizens of Brazil.
15) Please provide me with the total number of New Zealand Police staff or contractors, that
are citizens of Falkland Islands or Malvinas.
New Zealand Police does not record data about the citizenship or visa status of employees and 
contractors. As such, your request is refused under section 18(e) of the OIA, as the requested 
information does not exist.  
Please note that all applicants must demonstrate that they are a New Zealand or Australian Citizen 
or a New Zealand Permanent Resident. Any other visa status precludes them from applying for a 
new police officer role. 
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision.
