Thank you for your email of 29 August 2022 to the Ministry for the Environment (the Ministry), 
requesting the following under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act): 
Dear Ministry for the Environment, In April-May 2022, Auckland Council carried out an initial 
period of public consultation for a proposed intensification plan change. I am writing to request 
a copy of the submission you made (if any). It would most likely have been dated early May, 
as the consultation period closed on 9th May.  
The Ministry did not make any submission to Auckland Council on their proposed 
intensification plan change as referenced in your request. Accordingly, the Ministry is refusing 
your request under section 18(e) of the Act, as the information does not exist. 
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Office of the Ombudsman of the 
Ministry’s decision to refuse your request, in accordance with section 28(3) of the Act. The 
relevant details can be found on their website at: www.ombudsman.parliament.nz.
