[FYI request #20027 email]
Tēnā koe Mark
I am writing in relation to your complaint to the Ombudsman about my previous response
to your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request from 26 July 2022.
As you correctly noted to the Ombudsman, the chapter eXact Impact XM1006 (Version 6)
as published in two places on the Police website contains inconsistent redactions.
In the circumstances, I have further considered your request and have decided to release
this chapter with consolidated redactions, as well as the removal of redactions on
references to CS gas which were previously considered out of scope of your request and
the topic of eXact Impact XM1006. One section is still redacted under section 6(c) of the
OIA as the making available of the information would be likely to prejudice the
maintenance of the law, including the prevention, investigation and detection of offences,
and the right to a fair trial. The Ombudsman will review Police's decision in respect of this
remaining portion of withheld information, as well as the other issues raised in your
complaint.
The chapter is attached with my response. It will also be published on the Police
website1.
It is released to you under the under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-
NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND). In essence, you are free to
copy, distribute, and adapt the material, as long as you attribute it to New Zealand Police
and abide by the other license terms of CC BY-NC-ND.
Yours sincerely
