Official Information Act request: Proceeds of Crime Fund

Thank you for your email 16 July 2022, to the New Zealand Police requesting, under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act), information about the Proceeds of Crime Fund. On 17 July 2022,
the following part of your request was transferred to the Ministry of Justice for response  in
accordance with section 14(b)(i) of the Act:

“Documentation regarding the above request [The Proceeds of Crime Fund 2019-2022]

For example
How the money has been spent from the proceeds of crime - who has requested it and

how much was given to them, including why/what the money is to be used for. (Part of the
proceeds of crime allows agencies to request funding for various reasons)”

I have attached a PDF to this letter which contains the requested data. Some information has
been withheld under section 6(c) of the Act as releasing it at this time would likely prejudice the
maintenance of the law, including the prevention, investigation, and detection of offences, and the
right to a fair trial.

If you require further information, please contact Joe Locke, Media Manager on 021 636 416, or
email: [email address]

If you are not satisfied with my response, you have the right to complain to the Ombudsman
under section 28(3) of the Act. The Ombudsman may be contacted by email at:
