Response to your official information request 
Thank you for your official information request received on 10 July 2022 for ”any 
documentation you have in relation to plans to make the LINZ Data Service web visualiser 
usable on mobile devices.  Please include any correspondence you have with Koordinates, 
the mapping service provider as well as any internal plans that Koordinates has.” 
Background 
The LINZ Data Service (LDS) runs on version 7 of the Koordinates platform which, as you 
have identified, was not designed to be used on mobile devices. 
Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) regularly provides suggestions to 
Koordinates Ltd about possible enhancements based on feedback from LDS customers.

user interface technology direction and resource scarcity.

Koordinates v10 
Koordinates Ltd is currently building a new user interface. Ed Corkery, Chief Executive 
Officer of Koordinates Ltd, has confirmed that Koordinates v10 will be ‘fully responsive'; 
that is, desktop-tablet-touch-mobile friendly.   
Koordinates v10 is in testing with a subset of customers now.  Ed would be very happy to 
discuss with you in more detail the functionality of Koordinates v10 - you can contact him 
via koordinates.com/contact. 
We are anticipating that the LDS wil  transition to the new user interface later this year 
when we are confident that the platform meets the needs of our customers.
