Subject: RE: White Lady update?

Hi S 7(2)(a)

When Auckland Transport (AT) met with you and other representatives of the Pacifica building,
we were in discussion with AT Metro (Bus Services) regarding the bus layovers on Commerce
Street. These operational challenges were resolved and White Lady parking was proposed on
Commerce Street as per new plan.

The property owner and occupier of 10 Commerce Street (Pacifica) were updated via a letter.
Unfortunately, because of the time demands on this project and the holiday season, we missed
out on updating you via email.  I apologise for that.

The original idea was to find a permanent location for White Lady on Commerce Street, Gore
Street was only proposed due to the bus layover requirements by AT Metro. Once those issues
were resolved AT reverted to the initial location because:
On commerce Street there is ample space to accommodate White Lady Truck and tractor
while on gore street, we would have to let them overhand onto footpath which would
have been a safety issue (Gore Street was proposed as a last alternate if the Metro lay-
over challenge could not be resolved)).
Significantly, when the White Lady was relocated from outside Barfoot & Thomson, they
were told that they will be moved back to that location as soon as practical. The option is
directly opposite this location.
It is more suitable for the relocation of services (power/water) for the operation of the
White Lady.
After extensive searching for a sustainable location for the operation of this iconic
business, the Commerce St site has been confirmed as the most suitable in the road
corridor (given the high demand for curb side amenity).

The ‘temporary’ location of the White Lady has been resolved to the ‘loading zone’ as
requested.

AT believe this is an equitable solution given the challenges outlined above.

I will be happy to make time to discuss further, if needed.

Regards

Hi Alok

I am a little perplexed. Please find attached the Gore Street future plan that was provided by
yourself at our meeting on the 29th Oct 2020.
The proposed white lady parking was shown to be at 13 Gore Street.  The location on the plan
you have sent through today differs to this. For the record, I do not believe what has been
proposed is at all sensible given the immediate proximity to the  liquor store, which already
attracts intoxicated persons, and the associated unsociable behaviour and community H&S risks
that will undoubtably occur.

Can you please advise why the change to location has been progressed and why no further
communications in relation to this have been raised?

Regards,

Hi S 7(2)(a)

We have completed the regularisation process required to relocate White Lady to its new
location.

Please note this location is on Commerce St – see attached.

We are still struggling to move the power and water supply to this new location which is causing
a bit of delay.

I do not have a confirmed time for the shift of services, will advise you that as soon as I can.

Installation of the physical space (signs and roadmaking) will be coordinated with the shift of

Hi John and Alok,

Just following up on the timing of the White Lady moving to Gore Street. The Pacifica has CCC
now, and is just awaiting PC. Residents are expected to be moving in in January 2021.

Kind regards,
