Response to your request for official information
Thank you for your request under the Of icial Information Act 1982 (the Act) on 24 August
2022 for:
“Al documents and Cabinet papers mentioning Whangarei in relation to infrastructure
and health funding decisions from the date beginning October 25 2017”
On 1 September 2022 we contacted you in accordance with section 18B of the Act to clarify
whether you were specifically looking for Cabinet material mentioning Whangārei in relation
to infrastructure and health funding decisions. We asked this because your request for ‘all
documents’ encapsulates a substantial amount of information, including emails and informal
correspondence, which may lead to requests being refused under section 18(f) of the Act.
On 7 September 2022 you were contacted a second time to follow up on this clarification.
However, my office has not received a response to date. In order to provide reasonable
assistance in accordance with section 13 of the Act, I am providing you with a list of documents

a search of CabNet to determine Cabinet papers that may be in scope of the request before
transferring to my Office.
However, after reviewing the Cabinet papers that they identified, it has been determined that
none of these are within the scope of your request. Therefore, your request for Cabinet papers
is refused under section 18(e) of the Act.
