RESPONSE TO AN OFFICIAL INFORMATION ACT REQUEST
On 29 June 2022
, you contacted the Ministry for Pacific Peoples (the Ministry) requesting, under
the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA), information regarding nominations. I have outlined your
specific requests and my responses below.

May I have an update number of your nomination database.
•
Also, since 1st January 2022 to now, how many times you have been consulted
on appointments for state sector boards, committees, advisory groups and trusts
and for what positions/vacancies.
•
Since 1st January 2022 to now how many recommendations you have made for
what positions/vacancies.
The Ministry currently has 335 candidates in its’ nominations database. Between 1 January and
30 June 2022, the Ministry was consulted on 92 vacancies and made 82 recommendations for
appointments.
I have appended a table which outlines the list of board vacancies the Ministry was consulted on.
The table indicates vacancies for Chair/Deputy Chair roles, all other vacancies were for member
positions. The table also notes the vacancies the Ministry recommended candidates for. Please
note, the Ministry may recommend multiple candidates to a position should they fit the skills and
experience required.
In line with standard OIA practice, the Ministry proactively publishes its responses to OIA
requests. As such, this letter wil be published on the Ministry for Pacific Peoples’ website. Your
personal details will be removed, and the Ministry will not publish any information that would
identify you or your company.
