Your Official Information Act 1982 request, reference OIA 21/22-0811
Thank you for your email of 9 May 2022 requesting the following under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the OIA):
“I noted these 2 positions (Lottery Community Committees and Archives Council/ Te
Rua Wānanga) have closed, may I ask how many expression of interest you have
received per each positions, and how many are from other government agencies'
nomination database and how many are from the public directly.
Also, I noted there are many different sub committees within this Lottery Community
Committees application pack, can you please provide the information separate it by
each sub-committees.”
In response, I can advise the following:
• the Archives Council/Te Rua Wānanga received a total of five expressions of interest.
All of these were received from the public.
• the Lotteries Community Committees received a total of 48 expressions of interest.
All of these were received from the public. However, we received a list of
nominations from the Ministry for Women with approximately 20 nominations.
Below is a table showing a breakdown of the expressions of interest (EOI) applications by

It is important to note that applicants can apply for more than one committee. Some
committees have technical selection criteria and all committees have core selection criteria
including:
• community group experience;
• management skills / business knowledge;
• grant distribution experience; and
• knowledge of tea o Māori including tikanga Māori.
We intend to publish our response to your request on www.dia.govt.nz. This letter, with
your personal details removed, will be published in its entirety. Publishing responses
increases the availability of information to the public and is consistent with the Act’s
purpose of enabling more effective participation in the making and administration of laws
and policies and promoting the accountability of Ministers and officials.
