OIA request 21/22 0798 Request for Independent Celebrant statistics
Thank you for your Official Information Act (Act) request received by the Department of Internal
Affairs (Department) on 27 May 2022.
You requested –
The fol owing information broken down each year from 2016-2021 (inclusive), and year
to date 2022 for the Waikato Region:
1. Total number of marriages registered by an independent celebrant;
2. Total number of marriages registered by Chloe Boerema (Maiden name) & Chloe
Wiles (Married name) not based on location (Celebrant # 51852)
3. The (approx) 10 independent celebrants that have officiated the greatest amount
of marriages in 2021; and how many each conducted.
In response to your request I can provide you with the fol owing information.
Question one
Please find Appendix A, attached. Appendix A provides you with the number of marriages by
registered by independent celebrants in the Waikato region for the period 1 January 2016 to 31
May 2022.
Question two
Please find Appendix B, attached. Appendix B provides you with the total number marriages,
listed by date, performed by Chloe Boerema/Chloe Wiles.
Question three
I can advise you that the information sought is already publicly available. Therefore, I must
refuse this part of your request pursuant to section 18(d) of the Act; that the information
requested is or will soon be publicly available.
