Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) to the Ministry of 
Health (the Ministry) on 13 May 2022 for a copy of the Ministry’s review of the Waikato District 
Health Board (DHB) ransomware incident.  
 
Your request is refused section 18(e) of the Act, as the information requested does not exist.  
 
The Minister of Health, Hon Andrew Lit le, has commissioned an independent review which has 
not been completed. Once the report arising from the review has been submitted to the Minister, 
the Ministry expects the Minister will decide whether to release it. 
 
Under section 28(3) of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review any 
decisions made under this request. The Ombudsman may be contacted by email at:
