[FYI request #19307 email]
Tēnā koe Mark Wong
I refer to your email of 10 May 2022 in which you request the following under the Official
Information Act 1982 (OIA):
The details of all contracts awarded to companies where one or more of your family
members is a director or shareholder. This includes, but is not limited to Ka Awatea
Services Limited.
I am also requesting details of the process undertaken to award these contracts,
including some details of other applicants. For privacy reasons I understand that
names of people and companies may need to be redacted and that is fine. I am more
interested in their qualifications and experience that is relevant to the contracts they
were over looked for.
On 10 June 2022 the deadline to provide a decision on your request was extended to
20 June 2022.
In response to the first part of your request, I have consulted with the government departments I am
responsible for and they do not hold information about contracts awarded based on who the names
of directors or shareholders therefore I am refusing your request under section 18(g)(i).
In response to your specific request for details of contracts awarded to Ka Awatea Services Ltd. I direct
you to the answers I have provided to Written Parliamentary questions about Ka Awatea Services Ltd.
Similar Written Parliamentary questions have also been responded to by other Ministers and are
available on the Parliament website.

The second part of your request for the details of the process for awarding any contracts is
declined as no contracts to family members have been identified under the portfolio’s I
currently hold responsibility for.
