Dear Ryan Bullock
Official Information Act request for details of the role Senior Analyst, Disinformation
Thank you for your Of icial Information Act 1982 (the Act) request received on 3 May 2022.
You requested:
1. “Can you please detail primary outputs of the position of "Senior Analyst,
Disinformation" that was advertised in 2021.
2. Can you please specify which entity this position reports to, and provide an org
chart.
3. Can you please specify any affiliations with media, internet platform providers or
contracted 3rd parties the above mentioned entity has.
4. Can you please provide a budget for the programs of work undertaken by the
above mentioned entity.
5. Can you please cite the leadership team of the above mentioned entity.”
The Senior Analyst Disinformation was a short term position which no longer exists.
The primary outputs of the position were to understand the work already underway in this
space, advise of any areas for improvement to ensure a connected government approach to
the provision of accurate information, and ensure that the public is well supported in building
resilience to disinformation.
The role reported to the Head of System Assurance & Continuous Improvement. I have
enclosed an organisation chart for the role, as well as the leadership team, as requested in
your last question.
This position did not have any affiliations with media, internet platform providers, including
through contract third parties or contain a budget for work programs.
For future context there is currently a Senior Advisor employed, whose role includes some
cross-agency coordination of issues relating to COVID-19 disinformation. This individual
reports to the Manager of System Assurance & Continuous Improvement, who reports in turn
to the Head of System Assurance & Continuous Improvement.
This response may be published on the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet’s
website during our regular publication cycle. Typically, information is released monthly, or as
otherwise determined. Your personal information including name and contact details wil be
removed for publication.
Yours sincerely
