Dear Isabella

Request made under the Official Information Act 1982

Thank you for your email of 27 April 2022 to Waka Kotahi New Zealand Transport Agency requesting
the following information under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):

I am requesting the raw numbers of Restricted and Ful  practical driving tests which received
an "incomplete" result from 2017 - 2022. I would also like this information as a percentage of
total practical tests administered, or the total number of results (i.e., how many failed, passed,
received "incomplete" results, or did not sit). If possible, I would like these data broken down
by region and/or by provider.

The fol owing document falls within the scope of your request and is enclosed:
•  OIA-9976 - Isabella (Data).xlsx

Please note that the fol owing information has been withheld under section 9(2)(a) of the Act to protect
the privacy of natural persons, including that of deceased natural persons:
•  Test volumes for the Chatham Islands where less than four tests resulted in a pass, fail or
terminated status in any calendar year between 2017-2022.
•  Class 1 (Car) full licence test volumes for the Marlborough region in the 2022 calendar year
due to only one or two testing officers conducting Class 1 full licence tests between 1 January
2022 and 30 April 2022.

With respect to the information that has been withheld, I do not consider there are any other factors
which would render it desirable, in the public interest, to make the information available.

Under section 28 of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review my decision to
withhold information from your request. The contact details for the Ombudsman can be located at
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz.

This information you have requested has been enclosed in the attached spreadsheet. This information
should be considered in conjunction with the caveats on the first tab of the spreadsheet.

In line with Waka Kotahi policy, this response wil  soon be published on our website, with personal
information removed.

If you would like to discuss this reply with Waka Kotahi, please contact Kerry Greig, Manager, Data
Services, by email to [email address]

Yours sincerely
