Thank you for your official information request dated 20 April 2022 requesting copies of the
applications related for copies of permissions granted for use of VTAs and chemical poisons
on Moehau during 2021-2022.
Our response to your request is below:
1. Please provide copies of permissions granted for use of VTAs and chemical poisons
on Moehau during 2021-2022.
I enclose the following information covered by tour request (as attachments)

Permission granted 30 July 2020 to Mist Preservation Society
Incorporated for the Mist Reserve Project

Permission granted 23 June 2021 to Mist Preservation Society
Incorporated for the Mist Reserve Project 2021
•
Permission granted 5 November 2021 to EcoFX for the Moehau Possum
and Rat Control Operation 2021. Please note that this permission was
granted by Toi Te Ora Public Health, as the Waikato DHB Public Health
Unit no longer undertakes functions relating to VTA permissions
because of the COVID-19 workload. Public Health, Waikato DHB, holds a
copy of the permission granted and we have included this in the
information provided.
Some of the information you have requested has been withheld under the Official Information
Act 1982. This is in relation to information that could identify individual persons by name,
contact number or their locations.
• section 18(a) and 9(2)(a), which enables information to be withheld if this is necessary
“to protect the privacy of natural persons and this is not outweighed by any public
interest in its release”.
• section 18(a) and 9(2)(ba)(i)
“to protect information which is subject to an obligation of
confidence or which any person has been or could be compelled to provide under the
authority of any enactment were making the available of the information would likely
prejudice the supply of similar information from the same source and it is in the public
interest that such information should continue to be supplied; and this is not
outweighed by any public interest in its release”.
