Official Information Act request  for  email  communications  containing  the  phrase  'the 
great reset' 
 
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) request received on 6 March 2022. 
You requested: 
 
“1).I would like to request all email communications sent from and/or sent to any official 
of this office during the dates 01/09/2020 - 01/09/2021 that include the term "The Great 
Reset" and "the great reset” 
 
The time frame for responding to your request was extended under section 15A of the Act by 
20  working  days  because  it  required  a  search  through  a  large  quantity  of  information,  and 
consultation was needed before a decision could be made on the request.  
 
While  we  are  still  completing  our  search  for  information,  we  have  now  located  some  email 
communications that are in scope of your request. We intend to partially release these to you 
noting  that  we  are  likely  to  withhold  some  information  contained  in  these  emails  under  the 
following grounds: 
•  section 6(a) of the Act, as making the information available is likely to prejudice the 
security or defence of New Zealand or the international relations of the Government 
of New Zealand; or 
•  section 9(2)(a) of the Act, to protect the privacy of individuals 
Additionally,  some  consultations  still  need  to  be  concluded  before  a  final  decision  is  made 
and a response to your request provided.  
 
We apologise for the further delay to your request and a response will be sent to you as soon 
as possible. 
 
We  do  not  intend  to  publish  this  response  on  the  Department  of  the  Prime  Minister  and 
Cabinet’s website.
