(8) Does Auckland University of Technology accounting department accept dissertation
topics written purely about taxation (tax policy) for the BBus(hons) degree majoring in
Accounting (i.e. the dissertation does not incorporate or mention any accounting
knowledge)
Students must have an accounting background to enrol in the BBus Hons in Accounting.
Taxation is a sub discipline of accounting so as long as there is appropriate supervision
available in the department, and the supervisor feels that the topic falls under the umbrella
of accounting, then they could do a dissertation on tax policy.
