YOUR OFFICIAL INFORMATION ACT (1982) REQUEST HBDHB REF: OIA2022006 
 
I refer to your Official Information Act request dated 25 January 2022 where you requested information 
from Hawke’s Bay District Health Board (HBDHB). Your questions and HBDHB’s response is provided below: 
 
I am seeking the number of people that have visited any/all hospitals and doctor's surgeries within the 
HBDHB for any/all heart related issues, (including but not limited to pericarditis, myocarditis, heart 
attacks and strokes). The data requested is for the 11 month period from February 2021 until December 
2021 inclusive, displayed in month by month format, and compared to the monthly data for the previous 
three years. 
 
Please find attached the spreadsheet showing inpatient discharges from all DHB facilities for cardiac 
related issues by month and admission type.  As doctor surgeries are not DHB facilities, HBDHB can only 
provide information relevant to the hospital. If you require information about doctors surgeries you will 
need to approach the doctors surgeries directly.
