Thank you for your email of 17 January 2022 to the Ministry of Education requesting the
following information:
1. All raw data (excluding names etc) from rounds one and two of the community
consultations. The surveys that our community submitted.
2. All reports prepared for the Ministry by external contractors in relation to the
consultation process. ie. Gabrielle Whalls reports.
3. All correspondence, including emails between MOE staff, contractors and
Rolleston College BOT and/or management, relating to the Rolleston zone
secondary school procurement, management, land purchasing and consultation.
4. All information and correspondence regarding the purchase of the land for the
new campus.
5. All secondary research undertaken by the Ministry across NZ and globally
regarding the advantages and disadvantages upon young people of the creation
of large schools.
6. All minutes from meetings, recommendations, white papers and communications
to Ministry teams and Minister pertaining to the new Rolleston College Campus.
7. All information and communications regarding the initially planned stage 2 of the
current Rolleston College campus.
8. All financial information concerning the 'establishment budgets' allocated to the
current Rolleston College and the new campus.
9. All financial and planning information relating to the promotional video made for
Rolleston College for round 2 of the consultation. Who requested this video to be
made, what was the brief given and how much did it cost the taxpayer?
Your request has been considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act).
As noted in an email to you from Nancy Robbie, Principal Advisor – Strategic Advice with
Property Delivery, the final part of your request for information about the promotional video is
not held by the Ministry, but we do believe it is held by Rolleston College. As such, I am
transferring question nine to Rolleston College to answer per section 14(b)(i) and 14(b)(ii) of
the Act, as we do not hold the information and believe this part of your request is more
closely connected to the College.
You may expect a response from Rolleston College directly concerning your request. The
remainder of your request will be answered by the Ministry.
