The University does not collect GPA information from students as part of their
application for the Summer Research programme. To provide this information would
require a substantial amount of collation and research in order to manually calculate each
applicant’s GPA based on other University records which would have a significant and
unreasonable impact on the University’s ability to carry out its other operations. As such,
your request is refused under s18(f) of the Act.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of the
decisions made regarding this request. Information about how to make a complaint is
available at
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.
If you wish to discuss this decision with us, please feel free to contact me at
[VUW request email]. Ngā mihi nui
