Please confirm the source(s) of funding for the Mount Messenger Bypass project. Please 
indicate if the funding might be broadly characterised as part of the Belt and Road 
Initiative 
 
I  can  confirm that  the  sources of funding for the  Mount  Messenger Bypass  project  are  the 
Accelerated  Regional  State  Highway  Programme  and  the  National  Land  Transport  Fund. 
These two funding sources are maintained by the New Zealand Government and are not in 
any way associated with the Belt and Road Initiative.
