Thank you for your official information request received by Capital & Coast and Hutt Valley
District Health Boards regarding DHB’s data and/or information with regards to psychiatrists
and psychologists. Specifically, you have requested:
1. The total number of qualified, licensed psychiatrists currently employed within the
Community Mental Health and Addictions service (as of 1 December 2021) in Full Time
Equivalent (FTE);
2. The detail how this level of psychiatrists staffing to the same date 2020;
3. The total number of qualified psychologists employed within the same service in Full
Time Equivalent (FTE); and
4. The detail how this level of psychologists staffing to the same date 2020
As the Mental Health, Addictions and Intellectual Disability Service is a 3DHB service with the
Hutt Valley and Capital & Coast DHB’s sharing a single Chief Executive, you are receiving a
joint Hutt Valley and Capital & Coast DHB (2DHB) response.
Our joint 2DHB response to your request is outlined below.

1. The total number of qualified, licensed psychiatrists currently employed within the
Community Mental Health and Addictions service (as of 1 December 2021) in Full Time
Equivalent (FTE)
The Hutt Valley DHB does not currently employ any qualified, licensed psychiatrists
within the Community Mental Health and Addictions service.
The total number of qualified, licensed psychiatrists currently employed by the Capital
& Coast DHB within the Community Mental Health and Addictions service (excluding
Inpatient Units as of 1 December 2021) as a Full Time Equivalent (FTE) number is set
out below.
