Official Information Act request relating to Build Back Better 
 
Thank  you  for  your  Official  Information  Act  1982  (the  Act)  request  received  on 
20 February 2022. On 22 March 2022, you clarified your request for: 
 
 
“[…]  emails  and  communications  held  by  DPMC  that  include  the  phase 
“build back better” for the period 1 September 2020 – 1 February 2021”.  
 
 
Please  find  attached  all  emails  and  communications  the  Department  of  the  Prime  Minister 
and Cabinet holds containing the phrase “build back better”. Emails and communications that 
do not contain the phrase “build back better” have been excluded as not within the scope of 
your request.  
 
Some  information  has  been  withheld  under  section  9(2)(a)  to  protect  the  privacy  of  natural 
persons, including that of deceased natural persons.  
 
You  have  the  right  to  ask  the  Ombudsman  to  investigate  and  review  my  decision  under 
section 28(3) of the Act. 
 
We  do  not  intend  to  publish  this  response  on  the  Department  of  the  Prime  Minister  and 
Cabinet’s website.
