Request made under the Official Information Act 1982 
Thank you for your email of 10 November 2021 requesting the following information under the Official 
Information Act 1982 (the Act): 
[…] Could you please provide the vehicle crash data for the SH6/SH8B Cromwel  Intersection 
between 2010 to the current date? 
A breakdown on the number of injuries/deaths by year (and month too if possible) and then 
separately the accidents that were reported (also by year and month). […] 
The data you have requested is released to you in full and is enclosed in the attached spreadsheet 
(OIA-9049.xlsx). The data in the spreadsheet should be read in conjunction with the caveats on the 
first page of the spreadsheet. 
Your request for ”accidents that were reported” has been interpreted as the total number of recorded 
crashes. This data is included in the attached spreadsheet.  
The crashes recorded in our Crash Analysis System (CAS) is updated when a Traffic Crash Report is 
provided by the NZ Police to Waka Kotahi. It should be noted that minor or non-injury crashes are 
believed to be underreported.
