We refer to your two information requests dated 27 October 2021 made under the Official Information 
Act 1982. You have requested the grade distribution of the 2021 LAWS406 paper.  
 
We note that we contacted you 4 November 2021 to confirm that we were happy to grant your 
request, however we noted that this would be after 29 November 2021 once the Semester Two paper 
grades had been confirmed. 
 
Please find below a table of the grade distribution for the 2021 LAWS406 paper.  
 
For privacy reasons, the University’s standard practice is not to report on marks which relate to less 
than 5 students. When the numbers are very low, and class sizes are small, there is a risk that the 
identity of these students could be determined/inferred, and that their personal information (i.e. their 
marks) could be revealed. We therefore withhold this information pursuant to section 9(2)(a) of the 
Act. 
 
Accordingly, where there are less than 5 students, we have grouped these students together and 
indicated this using <5. We note that no students failed the 2021 LAWS406 paper.
