Dear Hayden
I refer to your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request dated 22 October 2021 for
information about safe speed cameras.
Specifically, you requested:
I would like to request an up to date list of where there are active Static Speed
Cameras, throughout the whole country.
The actual number of active safe speed cameras varies due to maintenance and
calibration requirements. However, Police publishes the locations of all safe speed
camera sites across New Zealand on our website. The list can be viewed here:

I have therefore refused your request pursuant to section 18(d) as the information
requested is publicly available.
I trust this information is satisfactory in answering your request. If you are not satisfied
with the with the way I have responded to your request you have the right, under section
28(3) of the OIA, to ask the Ombudsman to review my decisions.
