Thank  you  for  your  email of  20  October  2021  to  the  Ministry  of  Business,  Innovation  and  Employment 
(MBIE) requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the following information: 
 
 
I request the following information for the 1 January 2021 to 18 October 2021 (or similar dates): 
 
1.  The number of arrivals into MIQ facilities from flights from Australia by day. 
2.  Of the above, the number of persons testing positive for COVID-19 during their stay in  MIQ by day 
3.  Of  the  above  returnees  who  tested  positive,  from  which  testing  day  was  their  positive  result 
returned. 
4.  Which  dates  in  2021  a  pre-departure  test  was  required  before  flying  to  New  Zealand  from 
Australia. 
 
I am writing to inform you that MBIE has transferred parts 2, 3, and 4 of your request to the Ministry of 
Health  (MoH)  under  14(b)(i)  of  the  Act.  This  transfer  is  occurring  because  MBIE  understands  that  the 
information to which the request relates is not held by MBIE but is rather held by MoH. 
MBIE will continue to provide a response to part 1 of your request.  
You have the right under section 28(3) of the Act to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman 
of  my  decision  to  transfer  your  request.  The  relevant  details  can  be  found  at:
