Information Request – Fire Costs  
  
I refer to your official information request dated 17 October 2021 asking for the following 
information.  
  
Please provide the details of the costs FENZ incurred in controlling and extinguishing the 
following vegetation fires:
  
1. Incident F3210676, a vegetation fire on Defence land at Waiouru on the 7th April 2021.  
2. Incident F3279303, a vegetation fire that occurred 60km north of Kaikoura on 7th July 
2021.
  
  
In accordance with the provisions of the Official Information Act 1982, please find below the 
information you requested.   
  
1. 
As of 21 October 2021, Fire and Emergency New Zealand has not recorded any costs for 
incident F3210676.  
  
2. 
The following table shows a breakdown of the costs associated with incident F3279303 as of 
21 October 2021.  Please note that the invoices represent the additional cost we incur beyond our 
fixed cost of maintaining a response capability.
