Information Request – Updated Fleet Cascade and New Build Information
I refer to your official information request dated 5 October 2021 asking for,
an updated copy of the Fleet Cascade and New Build document and
in a separate
document, please provide information on the rotation of Type 4 and Command/Hazmat
Unit appliances.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand has begun preparing an updated Fleet Cascade and New Build
Plan, but it is not yet complete. This part of your request is therefore declined under section 18(e)
of the Official Information Act 1982, as the information you have requested does not exist at this
time. Please note that the copy of the Plan you were provided on 16 July 2021 is still current as at
today’s date.
Please find
enclosed a separate document setting out the information on the rotation of Type 4
and Hazmat Command Units. Since our response to you on 16 July 2021, the only update to this
information is the rotation of the Auckland City Hazmat Command Unit to Invercargill has
commenced, and the rotation of Type 4 appliances between Mount Maunganui and Whanganui
has been completed.
