Dear Victoria Muninn
Official Information Act request relating to social media influencers paid by the Government
as part of the COVID-19 response
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) request received on 3 October 2021. You
requested:
“Please provide a list of the social media influencers and artists who have received money
as part of the Covid response. I email your organisation rather than CreativeNZ because I
wish to understand the full scope of payments made and to know which departments or
Ministry's participated.
Please also provide copies of the contracts they were required to sign, and any
communications or documents that go to their purpose, including any stipulations or
responsibilities or messaging they were required to uphold or disseminate according to the
arrangement.”
I have decided under section 15A of the Act to extend the time limits for deciding on your request by
an additional 20 working days. Consequently, the extended due date for your response will be
29 November 2021.
The extension is required because of the consultations needed to make a decision on your request.
Despite the extension, a response will be sent to you as soon as possible.
You have the right to ask the Ombudsman to investigate and review my decision under section 28(3)
of the Act.
Yours sincerely
Sarah Corbett
