OFFICIAL INFORMATION ACT REQUEST
I am writing in response to your Official Information Act request which was received by Lotto
NZ on 28 September 2021. Your request was as follows:
Please confirm the revenue generated by Lotto NZ for each year from 1987 to date.
List the revenue exclusive of GST in one column and GST separately in the other
column.

Please confirm the revenue generated by Lotto NZ for each year from 1987 to date.
List the revenue exclusive of GST in one column and GST separately in the other
column.
The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) and the New Zealand Companies Office require New
Zealand companies to keep and maintain records for at least seven years.
In keeping with these regulations, Lotto NZ holds financial records for each financial year
from 2013/14 to 2019/20. Please note that as our 2020/21 financial statements have not yet
been confirmed, we are unable to provide this information as part of our response.
We have also located the information you requested for each financial year from 2001/02 to
2012/13.
We believe that physical copies of Lotto NZ’s Annual Reports, which detail our revenue
figures for the period 1987 – 2000 are held on site at Lotto NZ’s head office. Unfortunately,
this information is not accessible under current Alert Level restrictions in Auckland. Once
Alert Level restrictions allow, we can seek to provide this information if you still wish to
receive this information.
Please find details of Lotto NZ’s total revenue for each financial year from 2001/02 to
2019/20 in the attached spreadsheet. This has been separated into total revenue (exclusive
of GST) and GST in line with your request.
